10Discover Washington DestinationsAnother option takes visitors toward Poulsbo, west of Seattle. There, the Suquamish Museum features an array of items from the Suquamish tribe, including masks, carved wood figures, oars, clothing and more. The consignment program allows Indigenous makers to sell work in the Suquamish Museum Store. About five minutes away, find a Native American art gallery within the Suquamish Clearwater Casino Resort, which also offers beach access and sweeping views of Puget Sound and Agate Passage. There%u2019s a year-round swimming pool and outdoor hot tub, and a half-dozen restaurants on site. Find cultural artwork, Northwest decor and waterfront views in the resort%u2019s rooms. Eastern Washington road tripFor a longer weekend trip, drive east from Seattle about 197 miles toward Mattawa%u2019s Wanapum Heritage Center. The center features 12,000 square feet of exhibits, including dioramas, interactive monitors, a film on the Wanapum Band%u2019s history, a life-size tule mat lodge and audio interviews with Wanapum on gathering, hunting, trading, fishing and healing. View baskets and everyday fishing and daily-life tools made of stone, antlers and bones, and browse the gift shop for merchandise. Further east along I-90 near Spokane, Northern Quest Resort & Casino is one of Washington%u2019s largest tribal resort hotels, owned by the Kalispel Tribe of Indians. The resort features a hotel, spa, movie theater, concert spaces and multiple restaurants. The resort%u2019s newer River Tower was inspired by the concept of a Native American fish weir and reflects tribal-inspired designs throughout. It%u2019s also one of Washington%u2019s only casinos with children%u2019s entertainment and childcare, featuring drop-off childcare at Kids Quest (for ages 30 months to 12 years).
