Have little ones that need to get their wiggles out? Join us all weekend at the vibrant Discovery Zone! Immerse yourselves in sights, sounds and arts just for kids. As part of the year round youth and family program, Our Big Neighborhood , the Discovery Zone offers a wonderful mix of learning experiences. Try your hands at something new or follow along in dance! Each special partner lends their perspective and craft to the space, inviting every individual to cultivate their creative confidence and expression. Sri Chinmoy Oneness Peace Run: Colors of Peace Experience the hope of children around the world through their expressions of art, and see what peace means to them. Create your personal expression of peace on paper to be shared all over the Discovery Zone. Vedic Cultural Center: Vedic Vibes & Virtues Mix your own spice blends, get your fortune told through palm reading, and more! The Vedic Cultural Center brings an exploration of South Asian traditions to the Discovery Zone through hands- on creation and activity. Kids will see a glimpse of life on the other side of the world and in their own neighborhood. Center for Wooden Boats: Toy Boat Building What a dream for a kid to build their own wooden boat. With the help of CFWB volunteers and guardians, each child can design and work collaboratively to craft their vision. YouthCare: Safe Place Ring Toss and Bookmark-Making! Fri/Sat only Learn more about how YouthCare programs work to end youth homelessness and ensure that young people are valued for who they are and empowered to achieve their potential. Activities will teach about YouthCare program, King County Safe Place, through art and games. Jose Orantes: Animal Hat Making Sun/Mon only Color in different animals designs just they way you like them. Then cut it out, and fold them to create a unique hat or mask just for you!
