Here are highlights of what you will find: The Artist Within Curated by Marilyn Raichle This colorful show displays delightful and inspiring art by individuals aged 60-101. The Artist Within creates a different way of thinking about Alzheimer’s and dementia – opening hearts and minds to the simple truth that those who live with dementia, though they have changed, they are still here, living with dignity, creativity and joy. Check out The Artist Within , Friday – Monday in the International Fountain Pavilion (map #11) Youth in Focus Check out this impressive collection of photographs from Youth in Focus, an organization that empowers urban youth through photography, to experience their world in new ways and to make positive choices for their lives. Through photography the students find their voice, identity, creativity, and gain new confidence in their worth and abilities. Visit Youth in Focus , Saturday and Sunday in the Cornish Playhouse lobby (Map #3) Returning Favorites: •Paper Stock in the International Fountain Pavilion (map #11) •Fiber Arts at the Fisher Apron (between the Roadhouse and the Fisher Green Stage) IN·DIG·E·NIZE A PROJECT ORGANIZED BY TRACY RECTOR AND MELISSA PONDER An unapologetic portrait essay of Indigenous people currently living in the Pacific Northwest, in·dig·e·nize , refocuses our gaze upon the diversity in our region’s Native communities. This legacy project honors all of those who contributed to and participated in the celebration of Indigenous Peoples’ Day and to those Natives who call Seattle home! PEOPLE OF THE SALISH SEA CURATED BY TRACY RECTOR People of the Salish Sea is the interactive, transmedia platform for the upcoming documentary film Clearwater , the story of the unique relationship between tribal peoples and the waters of the Salish Sea (Puget Sound). For nearly 15,000 years the Indigenous people of the Pacific Northwest have called these waters home, and have had to adapt to environmental, social and political changes in order to survive. IN SEARCH OF STEVEN PAUL JUDD CURATED BY TRACY RECTOR Experience the work of pioneer visual artist Steven Paul Judd and engage in an interactive community art experience.
