We are also the leading voice for Alzheimer’s advocacy, and the world’s largest nonprofit funder of Alzheimer’s and dementia research. We are the only nonprofit in King and Snohomish counties that directly places diapers, wipes and formula into the hands of families living in tent encampments, tiny homes, emergency shelters, and safe car parks. Our volunteer network operates a phone line to assess needs and then delivers supplies within 72 hours. The child's needs are always our top priority. No wait list. No red tape. We provide weekend hunger bags for 925 students in 24 Seattle area schools. Many displaced students rely solely on the free breakfasts and lunches they receive at school, so weekends leave them without a reliable source of food. We give them food to see them through from Friday-Monday to help them be prepared to learn. The nation’s first queer-straight alliance youth choir presents music that opens the hearts and minds of communities and provides a safe environment for youth of diverse backgrounds to share their love of music and be accepted for who they are. Our unwavering mission is to empower people with Down syndrome and their families through life-long learning and experiences, while building an accepting and inclusive society. A world where people with Down syndrome feel accepted, supported, and celebrated for the extraordinary individuals they are. With enthusiasm, dedication, and support from our community, we can succeed. For 35 years and counting, Earshot cultivates a vibrant jazz community! We produce a monthly magazine, support jazz education, and present live music—including the annual Earshot Jazz festival, and a new free livestream concert series while events are restricted.
