SUNDAY, APRIL 26, 2020 | Special Advertising Section 1 R 10 When St. Vincent de Paul of Seattle | King County (SVdP) launched its centennial celebra- tion in January, little did we know that we would find ourselves in the middle of a crisis of such proportions. A pandemic seemed unimaginable just a few months ago — and yet here we are, joined with one another by our shared vulnerability as human beings. For the past 100 years, SVdP has been working on the ground in neighborhoods across King Coun- ty to help to keep families housed, fed and cared for in times of deep crisis, desperation and isolation. Equipped with more than 1,000 volunteers doing 16,000 visits to homes across the county every year, SVdP is able to provide more than food, rent and utility assistance. SVdP volunteers offer compassionate care that lifts the spirit. When someone is lonely, hungry, confused, feeling suffo- cated by the heavy burden from income loss, lack of community support, and wondering where to go for help, they call SVdP. Our continuum of care combines trained compassionate volunteers with professional case managers, creating a network of support for people in need, while also maxi- mizing the impact of your dona- tions to SVdP. Did you know that 89 cents of every dollar raised goes directly back into the community through our many programs, including our Georgetown Food Bank and our Centro Rendu Latino Community resource centers? A true nonprofit with a solid footprint in our com- munity; that is St. Vincent de Paul. Wherever you see people’s liveli- hoods and families threatened, you will find the hands of SVdP at work. For 100 years, we have unquestionably answered the call to serve our neighbors, and now more than ever we need you to stand with us. Donate today to the SVdP $1.5 million emergency fund and help us help others with compassion and care for years to come. For 100 years, responding to the needs of our neighbors PROVIDED BY ST.
